Recently, ambidextrous organizations have become one of the most researched topics in the field of business management, due to the interest aroused by the scientific community that seeks to understand the new paradigm that this topic proposes for organizations. In response to the above, this paper aims to analyze the evolution and intellectual structure of ambidextrous organizations, presenting a theoretical-conceptual framework of reference that facilitates their understanding. To carry out a bibliometric analysis based on metadata obtained from Web of Science and Scopus, which were processed through specialized software to explore patterns in scientific literature. From the results obtained, it was possible to identify the fundamental article on the subject, its main authors and researchers, the most cited countries, among other valuable information on
the subject. This concludes that the empirical evidence focuses on understanding how this new paradigm impacts organizational performance beyond the different ways of achieving organizational ambidexterity.
