The impact of technology on the circular economy: A bibliometric analysis (2012-2022)

The present study purposes to identify and analyze scientific development trends in topics related to technology and circular economy using the Web of Science (WoS) database owned by Clarivate Analytics and Scopus owned by Elsevier recovering 85 articles published between 2010 and 2020 exposed to bibliometric analysis. The development was made from metrics which include annual scientific production, scientific production by country, concurrences, annual scientific analysis, also growth of concepts, most relevant words, factor analysis and most cited journal. The results give evidence of the escalation in the scientific development of emerging issues such as the circular economy, sustainable development in relation with technology and industry 4.0.
