Humanity is synchronously associated during its evolution with knowledge, innovation and technology. The objective of this research is to analyze technological innovation and the characteristics of research carried out in Latin America. The methodology to obtain information was through a bibliometric analysis using the Scopus platform, finding 35, 320 articles on innovation worldwide; but in Latin America only 124 articles were identified; resulting in a relevant finding, since there is a low academic production and little interest in developing research related to technological innovation. On the other hand, it is ratified that innovation is a factor of link between the industrial, social and government sectors; unfortunately, this relationship is very low in Latin American countries.
