Application of the SWOT tool: Case study in a business in the restaurant industry

The implementation of innovative strategies in organizations allows them to survive in the markets. The objective of this work is to generate strategies that contribute to a business in the restaurant industry to improve its performance and meet its objectives. To this end, a SWOT analysis was carried out in order to identify problems and opportunity areas in the Coffee Shop business; a Mexican coffee shop. In addition, a cross matrix was carried out to propose innovative strategies that add value to the organization. The research was conducted with a non-experimental qualitative approach. The proposed strategies contemplate an offensive, defensive, reorientation and survival posture, emphasizing the use of technologies and digitalization as essential to achieve their objectives.
