Superficial hydrological modelling is a fundamental tool in the study of hydrology, allowing a better comprehension of hydrological system behaviours, properties, and characteristics; through the simulation of these models, the analyst can determine how changes to the particularities and parameters of each system affect hydrological phenomena. In this paper, the tributary basin to the hydrometric station with ID 12378, located by the Calles Dam in Aguascalientes, Mexico, is modelled using the HBV model. The precipitation and temperature series are obtained from the National Meteorological Service, and the resulting runoffs are compared to the series of measured runoffs by this station, which is available in the BANDAS by CONAGUA, to determine the model’s evaluation statistics according to the existing literature and determine the model’s robustness, assuring in this manner that future simulations correspond by a high degree of confidence with what may really happen.
