Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science focused on creating intelligent machines capable of simulating human intelligence, behavior, and learning. The academic community has not remained immune to the allure of AI. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and debate the implications of AI in academic environments, allowing the reader to engage in a critical discussion about the use of artificial intelligence in an academic setting. AI has the potential to accelerate scientific discoveries, open doors to knowledge, and facilitate advancements in various fields of study. Public universities can harness the power of AI to enhance research capabilities and personalize education.
