Abstract

In this manuscript is presented the physical habitat simulation of a Lozoya river reach, for obtaining the availability of weighted usable area (WUA) for Chondrostoma polylepis species, as well as to determine the flow that maximizes the WUA. For habitat simulation it was used the PHABSIM (Physical Habitat Simulation System), and it can be identified that 1.5m3/s flow maximizes the WUA for juvenile life stage, 0.65 m3/s maximizes the WUA for fry life stage, and 4.00 m3/s maximizes the WUA for adult life stage. This results constitute valuable information for the sustainable management of fluvial ecosystem water resources.
