Modeling and construction of a hydrocyclone
Main Article Content
Abstract
The modeling and construction of a hydrocyclone was carried out as part of the deep well drilling equipment for water extraction, which has the function of separating the sands from the ground from the drilling fluid so as not to damage the slurt pump. In the present work, mathematical modeling was used to carry out the construction of the prototype and finally perform physical modeling.
This mathematical model was used to diagnose the operation of the previous design of the hydrocyclone. Once the mathematical modeling was finished, the construction of the prototype was carried out, in A 36 steel. Tests were performed on the prototype built using a mixture of water with sand to evaluate the operation of the hydrocyclone. The cut size d50 of the particles was determined. The hydrocyclone works acceptably by separating the larger particles.
