RELIABILITY IN THE DETERMINATION OF SUSPENDED SOLIDS AS WATER QUALITY PARAMETERS FROM COLORIMETRIC TECHNIQUES

Abstract

          Suspended Solids (SS) are a quality parameter that is obtained from laboratory tests, which turn out to be expensive, however, there are alternative methods such as colorimetric tests; for this reason, the present work has as objective the determination of the reliability of this alternative technique, for which a colorimetric study was carried out through 20 samples measuring the absorbances at four wavelengths and later 10,000 simulations were carried out from the method of Monte Carlo, to determine the reliability of this method from means of sensitivity and uncertainty.

Itzel Luviano Soto, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo

I received my Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo with Honors and I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Civil Engineering, with a research line in environmental engineering, especially focused on water quality, in addition I collaborate in the instrumentation and non-destructive testing laboratory for materials characterization. I work as a teacher at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, I have more than 20 conference articles and popular articles.

Yajaira Concha Sánchez, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo

I received my Ph. D. in Physics (High Energy Physics), from the Instituto de Física y Matemáticas of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico in 2009. My research and professional interests consists in the Perturbative and Non Perturbative Aspects of Field Theories, Relativistic Condensed Matter (2D materials) and Physics applied to Civil Engineering. My experience is the analytical and numerical evaluation of Green functions of field theories as Scalar Quantum Electrodynamics (SQED) (Master degree), Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) (Postdoctoral) and Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) (Postdoctoral). I am a researcher and professor in the Civil Engineering Faculty at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo since 2009.

Bertha Alejandra Olmos Navarrete, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo

Bertha Olmos received her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and her Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, México. She received a fellowship from Fulbright for perusing a PhD at Texas A&M University. She has been member of the National Research System (SNI) in Mexico since 2012. She is a Titular Professor at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. Her research interests are soil structure interaction, multi-hazard mitigation of bridges and retrofit and rehabilitation techniques. She has published one book, and five book chapters. She has published more than 100 articles in Journals and Conferences.

José Vega Cabrera, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo

I received a Ph. D. in Education from the Universidad Contemporánea de las Américas, in Morelia, Michoacán, México, in 2020. My research and professional interests consist in Scalar Models of the Rastall Equations and Applied Physics (nondestructive techniques). My experience involves in applying analytical and numerical techniques for solving the Rastall Equations and using nondestructive methods (acoustical and optical) to evaluate physical properties of materials. I am a researcher and professor in the Faculty of Physical.
