Editorial Process

Articles submitted to Ciencia Nicolaita are initially reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, who, based on the content, may: A) reject the submission, B) assign reviewers, or C) assign the manuscript to a member of the Editorial Committee to conduct the peer review process. Once the reviewers' feedback is received, a written recommendation is issued, which may be to accept, reject, or request revisions to the document from the authors. A specific deadline is then set for submitting a revised version, taking into account the scientific aspects, content, and writing quality. The revised versions submitted by the authors are accompanied by a letter to the Editor-in-Chief, detailing how the suggestions were addressed and the corrections made. At this stage, based on the improvements to the manuscript and the authors' letter, the Editor-in-Chief may decide to accept the work or conduct a second round of peer review through the Editorial Committee.

Manuscripts accepted for publication are sent to production, and a galley proof in PDF format is generated and sent to the authors for review and eventual approval. All manuscripts included in an issue of the journal are analyzed on the iThenticate platform.

Peer Review

Texts submitted to Ciencia Nicolaita undergo a double-blind peer review process that guarantees an objective and impartial review. All submissions are subject to anonymous peer review by at least two specialists in the subject matter, who will provide reasoned opinions on the quality and suitability of the work. Based on these opinions, the Editorial Committee decides whether to accept (with or without modifications) or reject the manuscript. Once a manuscript is assigned to a member of the Editorial Committee, they have approximately two months to assign reviewers and conduct the peer review process.
