Qualitative correlation between regional subsidence and structural damage in Morelia-Tarímbaro: a case study in social housing
Keywords:

The Morelia-Tarímbaro region presents critical differential subsidence induced by aquifer overexploitation and local geological structures. This work documents the correlation between this phenomenon and structural pathologies in social housing, through a case study on the Cuitzillo Surface Geological Fault (FGSC). A mixed methodology was applied, integrating field inspection, geophysical data (Electrical Resistivity Tomography), and cadastral analysis. The results characterize a deformation zone 12 meters wide with scarps of up to 80 centimeters, affecting the assets of 90 properties. The evidence validates the urgency of restricting urbanization in fault zones and implementing the water recharge measures of the Morelia 2050 plan.
