Gestión del riesgo hídrico industrial en León, Guanajuato: peligro, exposición y vulnerabilidad
Keywords:
Pollution, industrial and commercial discharges, social vulnerability, water quality parameters, hazard levels, critical zonesAbstract
The aim of this study is to assess the hazard, exposure, and vulnerability of the municipality of León to water pollution, as part of the Municipal Risk Atlas. The methodology, based on the CENAPRED guide, integrated environmental and spatial analyzes to identify critical areas. The results show that the southwest area, from the Central de Abastos to the municipal boundary, is severely polluted, with Chemical Oxygen Demand values of up to 10,979 mg/L and widespread fecal contamination, classifying it with high danger levels. These areas coincide with industrial sectors and at the same time, with high social vulnerability, which increases the health-environmental risk. Pollution is mainly associated with the tanning sector, although other commercial activities also contribute, requiring priority actions for regulation.
