In this report, a hydraulic model was developed at the Mexican Transport Institute to review the effect of different wave characteristics on beach cross sections. The change in the geometry of a beach profile due to waves was determined, analyzing the main effects and impacts, and the behavior of the beach profile under different wave conditions in relation to the characteristics of the sediment was assessed. Different methodologies were used to make beach profile evolution forecasts and a beach profile was selected based on field studies to build the hydraulic model. The retreat of the beach line in the profile was calculated, and an analysis was carried out with the results.
