Abstract

This work synthesizes exploratory research with the aim of knowing the thermal habitability and its relationship with health and with the shapes of adaptation of dwelling located south of the city of Torreon, in northeastern Mexico, in a climate with the presence of heat waves. To develop it, a mixed method was used that includes quantitative data for the thermal analysis of the dwellings, and qualitative data to document the impacts on health and the shapes of social and technological adaptation. The results indicate that the internal temperatures exceed the ranges of healthy thermal comfort, while the inhabitants express physical difficulties produced by heat, while the dwellings are not constructively adapted but depend on evaporative cooling systems.
