Intensification process: biofuels production sustainable alternative for transport sector
Main Article Content
Abstract
Biofuels have been identified as a promissory strategy that contributes to sustainable economic recovery. Biofuels are generated from biomass, and allow the generation of electrical and/or thermal energy, as well as motor energy, which is of great relevance for the transport sector, in which liquid biofuels are mainly required. The production of liquid biofuels is technically feasible, but its financial feasibility is still a challenge. For this reason, this paper presents the processing routes to obtain biogasoline, biodiesel, green diesel and biojet fuel, as well as the strategies for the intensification of processes with the greatest application potential; these include thermally coupled distillation columns, reactive distillation, as well as reactive extraction.
