Abstract

How deer populations, of which we have four species in Mexico, may be affected by increasing temperatures and prolonged periods of drought caused by climate change. Deer have a high hunting and cultural value, and much knowledge has been generated about their ecology and behavior, which allows us to predict the effects they will have on their habitat (availability of food, water, cover) in terms of population dynamics. Strategies will have to be sought to mitigate these effects.
