In 1776 Charles III, the King of Spain, proclamed a law to regulate marriageways, the purpose of this law was to prevent young people from keeping getting married without parental permission. A few years later this law was imposed overseas in Spanish colonies. In this work, we use cases where this law was applied in Valladolid de Michoacan.
